Then what's the point of the season ticket system?

And after the ructions on here over the years with away allocations and the FAI LOL
50/50 split, I’m not talking about a 5% allocation LOL
The sense of entitlement is strong here!

Ah here will ya get the boat with sense of entitlement, for asking a question? LOL

Again, what is the point of the season ticket scheme if you aren't going to admit some season ticket holders?
It’s not just yourself though is it. Multiple posters informing us there’ll be 75% of the allocation definitely going to mayo as they’ve the larger following is a sense of entitlement whether you like it or not.
It’s a home game for Kildare, what’s the point of home & away games so.... sure just play every game in Croker and be done with all home advantage.
The season ticket is a great idea, and works well but for grounds where capacity is less than demand then sadly some will miss out.
Those moss deserving should get them.

"those most deserving should get them?
if only they was a way to figure this out......say perhaps a scheme.....maybe some sort of ticketing scheme. ..

oh wait .....

It’s a flawed system & home advantage is only an advantage if you’re a big county.
Fair play to Kildare standing up for themselves

FfS!! Kildare is twice the size of Mayo and probably has way more clubs!! Small county LOL

If Kildare wanted to avoid a situation like this, then they should have:

-bought season tickets (fans obviously)
-played the game at a bigger venue
 Or
-actually develop a f**king ground that is fit for proper inter county games like a shed load of other counties have, going into debt in the process

They knew the rules long before this, they can have zero complaints with the attendance breakdown on Saturday
They finally did it man... They killed my f**kin' car...

This season who knows?would have been very messy. From next season on expect a slight tweak to the rules re stadiums.

Something along the lines of the ground can only hold the fixture if it can accomadate all season ticket holders plus 5k more or something like that.

Who in Kildare is complaining? Haven't heard one person here say anything

The numbers for the season tickets arent the same as Mayo which is understandable given both counties form over the last few years. This is the first game in a long number of years where there's an issue getting a ticket for a Kildare game, Mayo probably have at least one game on an annual basis where this happens hence the benefit of the season ticket for them

The ground in Newbridge needs improving but its fit for 90% of the games played there, a few league games in the Spring and the odd qualifier every few years. This game is an exception due to Mayo's massive following, if we'd drawn anyone else this issue would never have arisen

One of the good things thats come of all this is, even though the planning permission is in, it will hopefully give the County Board a kick to get it all moving a bit quicker

Not suggesting that anyone in Kildare is complaining chief, I was just making a point about the ticket numbers

Thumbs Up
It's a strange set up but everyone knew the story when fighting the GAA's decision. Maybe the county board might open the back gate and let a few hundred more Kildare supporters in to balance it out a bit LOL. Regardless of the crowd or the ground, we're going to have to serve up a massively improved performance from what we've given this year to even trouble Mayo.

This is hilarious. Kildare dig  heel into to keep the match within the county but will now outnumbered by 2/1.

Mayo have great support though, you have to hand it to them. By a distance the best travelling fans in the country

Would've been outnumbered by 10-15k in Croke Park so far better off in Newbridge Confused

Congrats Kildare. Shocking result but fair play.

Will they play in Newbridge in the super 8's?

only caught the last few mins, fair play to Kildare. Were the home fans as badly outnumbered as predicted by the Mayo faithful on here?

To answer your question no..

Was near enough 50/50 from what I could see.Dnt know what all the fuss about tickets was about. .looked about 75% full.

Fair play to kildare...they were slightly better on the day and their supporters are sound.

I hope they get to the super 8s and play again in Newbridge ....old style but decent ground.
