Was at the Moorefield v Portlaoise game yesterday. Moorefield never got going in the first half but were better after the break. Portlaoise were very impressive and deserved winners. Should be a good one against Crokes

Scotstown v Gweedore Ulster Club final. Gweedore scored 4 goals to overcome Crossmaglen, Kevin Cassidy scored 1-3 from full forward. Odhran McNeillis like a rolls Royce in midfield for them

Missed a fortune up front not taking into account the penalty. The big full forward and the lad taking the frees off the ground with his left were very wasteful

Are the GAA trying to make Mayo into another Dublin? What good is this to the GAA in Leitrim and Sligo? Are Galway & Roscommon happy with this?, Michael Ring is a very generous man with our Money/Taxes......to his own County!

'There is no other facility like this in Ireland'

November 26, 2018

A general view of the Connacht GAA Centre in Bekan, Co. Mayo.

Connacht Council secretary John Prenty expects the planned air dome at the province's Centre of Excellence in Bekan, Co. Mayo to open next summer.

It follows the news that the provincial body has received a grant worth €2.1million from the Department of Rural and Community Development towards the development of the indoor arena containing a full-size GAA pitch.

The overall cost of the project is estimated at €3 million.

"We have to talk to the designer and the people putting the tender together, but I'd hope we can be open for Feile in June 2019," Prenty told the Western People.

"It will open up a lot of options for us. There is no other facility like this in Ireland."

Mayo are going building there own CoE in Castlebar and no other county really uses Bekan. It was/is a vanity project ,over 10m spent on it now.Mostly underage teams using it as far as I know.

Its a fantastic set up but Connacht council would have been better off giving each county board 2m each towards building there own set up's.

Shocking wides. McCormack had a stinker and he's normally reliable in fairness to him. Have absolutely no idea why Cahillane didnt take the penalty, crazy.

Thought O'Sullivan was very poor alright but Portlaoise did seem to target him a bit

Heard the Longford crowd are savage defensive but hopefully is a good final

Is there anything better in world sport than a tight, tense Ulster club final which goes to extra-time, in which my beloved Scotstown are playing?

The answer is no - no, there is not.
