Think he will be waiting 15 months and play for someone else

Will Kenny give reason for his omission ? Could he be in the under 21 squad

People suggesting he’s gonna go to Nigeria after not getting selected need to relax pure Irish thing that 😂

He shouldn’t have tweeted but it’s not the end of the world James McClean did something similar a few years ago. Obafemi has plenty time to play for us once he doesn’t refuse a call up to the 21s or something stupid.

If Idah and parrott don't hit the ground running in the championship then Obafemi can find himself back in the mix.

This is a non story, obafemi is disappointed not to be selected this time, he'll get his chance soon enough.

Mcgoldrick and Shane Long are not young lads and idah and parrott haven't exactly nailed down positions

Nipped in the bud

Although, still could be utilized in a front 2 as a change of formation.

Connolly did almost the exact same thing when Obafemi was called up by O’Neill!

Even if he wanted to how can Obafemi switch now? He's played competitively for us.

Lol

The way I feel when I see a Jon Flanagan eligibility post or a 3-5-2 formation in a match thread

I know SK has given his reasons but surely you can find a spot for Obafemi? His pace is unreal..he could do a job out wide - has played wide right for Southampton on occasion afaik

But SK said exactly that he's still learning the wide role. Gave a detailed breakdown of why. These are his decisions, he doesn't really have to explain them

I'm more happy that we are now in a position to omit a Prem striker who we basically panic cap tied ( at that time ) not so long ago.

Unlike previous couple of managers, we may have someone in Kenny who has a an actual game plan, and knows exactly what players he needs to implement that.

Willing to assume, based on detailed planning on his part, that this decision has plenty of thought behind it.

Which is fair enough but I just think someone with the pace Obafemi has could be included in a 23 man squad. Learning to play on the wing is hardly rocket science. Hopefully we will see him in the squad soon.

he’s definitely entitled to select or not select a player based on how he see’s them fitting into the team.

From a management perspective, it seems unfortunate that a player that would have had a realistic expectation to be included in the squad found out he was excluded the same time as us. I’d think a 2 minute phone call yesterday explaining his decision to M.O would have prevented this being a talking point.

Hopefully just a small bump in the road.

You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn
