I think you'll find that is changing.   A lot of landlords getting out of the business at this stage

Don't think you understand PCP. I bought a car by PCP - the penalties are the same as a bank loan. PCP worked out a lot cheaper over the term of the car, with an option to upgrade at year 3 if I need to. Totally understand if some people don't want a new car, but if you do, then PCP makes a lot of sense for people upgrading from banger to new car.

"The biggest killer is the price of renting is so expensive then it makes sense to buy a house in many people's situations."

On top of the expense you have the fact that tenant rights in Ireland and Britain are years behind other western countries, particularly Germany. While being a professional landlord seems to come with no moral obligations here or at home, in Germany it is bound by their constitution. The Federal Law of the German Republic includes the line; " property comes bound with duty. It must be used to serve the public good."
I doubt that is the mantra of Foxton's or Daft.ie.

Finally house prices are going up but the rules are very tight on who they are lending to and also having x amount of a deposit, so again a crash their is not likely.

The biggest killer is the price of renting is so expensive then it makes sense to buy a house in many people's situations.

Grilled halloumi is nice though, is it in fashion these days?

Oh yes. No self respecting hipster would be seen eating anything else. Avocado went mainstream 'man'.

The latest London street food craze is halloumi fries - deep fried halloumi 'chips'.

I assume its only a matter of time before it spreads West.

No doubt it's all over hipsters Instagram's
Was having a bite to it recently and there was 2 young Asian girls sitting across from us, by the time they got to eat their food it must have been cold! We got our food around the same time and were finished by the time they started, I was expecting them to pull a drone out to make sure they got it from every angle.
We have definitely crawled sideways as a species when our immediate reaction to food is to photograph. One encouraging thing is the term 'food porn'(Angry) seems to have disappeared.

I am north east! I did see somewhere advertising those, it might have been that ****ish hipster place in town. They sound nice though.
I remember having 'vegetarian' fish'n'chips in Archway 6-7 years ago, it was slices of halloumi battered and deep-fried! It was one of the unhealthiest and most delicious things I have ever eaten. I had a raging hangover too.

It isn't mashed, it is smashed!
Fun fact; hipsters obsession with avocado has seen a huge surge in illegal deforestation in Mexico and rising prices has seen it suggested that the cartels may be getting involved. At least cocaine is worth the effort.

From my understanding household debt is going down because the value of people's homes are going up. Obviously this would be aided by restrictions on credit.

Whatever about Dublin and other major urban centres, rural Ireland is a different picture. I have been monitoring property prices for homes within a 45 minute drive of Cork. They have only had modest rises in the past 24 months. Word on the street from trades people I know is that things are tipping along nicely. It's certainly not boom time yet in rural Ireland.
