Walsh was born in Belgium to an English father of Irish descent, and a Swiss-born Dutch-raised mother of Indonesian descent.[3][4] He is therefore eligible for Belgium, England, Ireland, Indonesia, Switzerland, and Netherlands. He is a youth national for the Netherlands
