They're great times for people down the country, especially on a Sunday evening.

England manages to survive fairly well with 3pm Saturday kick offs all season long.

That's the away match.  The Sunday game that Wanderer mentioned is at home in September.

Hopefully we are. A sh*t hole of a country

Bulgaria would make a cracking holiday/football trip tbh if at the right time of the year.

It's an absolute dump ran by gangs but we're talking 2 euro a pint. How can you say no to that?!
Have you seen a lot of Bulgaria ?

Nope. Because when you've seen Sunny Beach you just want to drink as much as you can then get the f**k out LOL Makes the Baelaric islands look like paradise.
I just think dismissing an entire country, one with a rich and varied history,  as a ‘dump’ that’s ‘run by gangs’ based on some week on an 18-30 type thing full of Brits and Paddies on the piss as ignorant at best and racist at worst.
Oh God, the irony
I don't agree with THAT, in the workplace!

Which was clearly intentional. In fact, not getting it could itself be deemed ironic!

If the sea is frozen, it makes for a great experience.
I went in April, still frozen over, and the ship just plows through the ice, knocking big chunks of it off to the side.  It's mad to watch.

The ferries themselves are basic enough inside, but you're on board for three hours tops, so who cares?

This sounds unreal.

@Superdave - have you done this?

Nope.

Though I am looking at coming back from Finland basically overland, going the long way around up above the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Bothnia.

Night train on Wednesday from Helsinki to Tornio / Haparanda, bus to Lulea, night train on Thursday from Lulea to Stockholm, day train to Copenhagen and Hamburg, Friday night there, Saturday morning train to Cologne, afternoon to Brussels, evening to London, stay with a mate, then sail rail home on the Sunday.

But that might be mad.

Is this something you have always wanted to do or is this a plan devised in last 22 hours? Sounds class if family/work would allow.

I've looked at it before but mostly came up with it since the draw.

I'm half planning heading to Sofia via Holyhead, London, Paris, Milan, Ancona, Bar and Belgrade, because I want to take the Bar-Belgrade railway, which is meant to be spectacular. I just need to figure out the ferries between Italy and Montenegro.

A 10 day in 2 month interrail pass would allow me to do both of those without having to pay a heap extra for reservations (the night trains would need sleeper supplements).

interrail.eu has the cost of the pass but be warned that there are plenty of extra costs.

You need to book reservations for most high speed trains and for basically all overnight trains.

But the pass costs are cheaper if you are 27 or younger.
