I think the NL could work as a stand alone tournament if they had final tournaments for League B, C and D like they have for A.

UEFA website 'as things stand' for the playoffs doesn't mention a host draw. Includes us as being part of the draw to be moved up to Path A if Hungary were to qualify directly. Which would mean a home semi final against a League C team (Bulgaria, Israel or Romania) if we were drawn into Path A. Final v winner of Iceland v Bulgaria, Israel or Romania.

Would have thought there would be a host draw myself but it is the UEFA website. Maybe they don't know their own rules LOL

If Wales go through we'll be at home to NI in the playoff semi?

Edit: If we don't beat Denmark LOL

You are right. I forgot about Bosnia. They are ranked ahead of us, so we would still be away to Slovakia.

A slightly worrying development LOLLOL

Rule 16.03c seems to be the one covering that, though its not exactly the ten commandments written in stone as regards clarity !

16.03 The UEFA administration conducts a draw to allocate teams to the different playoffs path, starting with UEFA Nations League D, subject to the following conditions:

a. A group winner cannot form a path with a team from a higher-ranked league in the overall UEFA Nations League rankings.

b. If four or more teams from a league enter the play-offs, a path with four teams from the league in question must be formed.

c. Additional conditions may be applied, subject to approval by the UEFA Executive Committee, including seeding principles and the possibility of final tournament host associations having to be drawn into different paths.

I've no doubt there's some cureveball to come here.

They're doing the draw before the playoffs, I assume they'll have to have balls in teh draw with "Nations League A Playoff" etc in the hat.

Our group will be Spain and League B Playoff Winner.
One of Scotland or Romania then goes C and A, they'll be kept apart.

At least 1 host will be dumped up to path A and likely to have a home semi. By draw or committee time will tell.

tbh if we were bumped up to League A I wouldn't really fear Iceland. I'd want to avoid Romania should they get promoted to A too as they have a fantastic young team.

But sure we're going to beat the Danes so the playoffs won't even matter

This was written by an ESPN journalist who is very up to date on the permutations and explains the play off draw and how it will work

Sounds like if we don’t win tonight we are definitely in league B playoffs then.
