Clickbait. The article in the Indo that it links to doesn't suggest that at all. He's being linked with a coaching role within the U-21 set up not the managers job

Just making a story out of nothing. Quite a few ex players have been involved with the underage teams lately working with the current head coaches, Mark Kinsella has been involved with the u21s for the last campaign and Colin Healy (19s), Andy Reid (18s), Kevin Doyle (17s), Richard Dunne (16s) and Sean St Ledger (15s) all started with the other teams back in September.

Noel King has officially resigned.
Yasssss Edit: Muted celebrations, he has moved to head of player identification. Does that mean he’ll be the first point of contact with potentially eligible players? 🤮

Good to hear. He was only holding back the u21s for the last few years and it’s come at a great time as we have a good crop of u17s and u19s coming through.

Lee Carsley the obvious choice is they could be bold enough to put together a package to tempt him away from the FA.

Stephen Reid says he wants the job, would be a decent choice you would imagine.

I know Stephen Kenny picked a home-based U21 side for the recent training week, but which current LOI players should be a shoe-in for his real U21 side?

Darragh Leahy, Liam Scales, Trevor Clarke, Daniel Mandroiu and Neil Farrugia would be lads that I'd say will be in the team. Could be one or two others that make it in such as Conor Kearns at UCD as back up to Kelleher, not sure what other options we have in that postion. |

On current form Daire O’Connor, Daniel Mandriou, Conor Levingston and Edward McGinty should all have a chance of making the squad. Trevor Clarke will probably make it alongside Brandon Kavanagh. You’d imagine that Kenny will want to name atleast five league of Ireland players. Hopefully the likes of Aaron Bolger (on loan at Cardiff) and Ali Regbha stay with the 19s as they have a very good chance of qualifying if they can use our strongest players at that age level. Edit: O’Connor may be overage as he is already 21.

Doubt it. If you're 21 the day after qualification begins you're eligible but not if you're 21 on the day or day before AFAIK could be wrong. Dont think it's done on the calendar year
