Fed 38
Stan 34
Nadal 33
Djokovic 32

Between them have won the last 14 Aus opens. Should make it 15.

Djokovic was like a machine today. Can’t see anybody beating him.

Hoping Djokovic wins, can only get odds of around 10/11 on Djokovic beating Federer in three sets.

Hopefully Thiem or Zverev can cause an upset on the other side of the draw and reach the final.

Federer saved 7 match points! but it was as much Sandgren bottling it as him saving them.

Both Djokovic and Federer left the court in the middle of  sets when they really shouldn't have, to mess around with contact lenses, and have a supposed groin strain be treated in private, respectively.

The old lads still up to all the tricks.

Fed was doing 88mph 1st serves in the 2nd & 3rd sets so there must have been something wrong that required treatment.

Surprising but he never really got going and had some rotten luck with the net cords. 3 tie breaks, 3 sets lost

Thiem (26) v Novak (32) Aus Open Final.

I think Novak will win in 4.

Thiem needs to win a slam soon. He has been the 2nd best clay court player for the last few years. He has improved massively on hard courts too.
Like Murray, his big problem is the big 3 and they won’t retire!!

Edit:
2 sets all now. Novak was in control but then got 2 time violations in one game and lost the plot for a bit. Was one set up and then 2 sets to one down.

We go to a 5th.

Indian Wells, due to start today, has been cancelled.
Clay court season in March/April/May.....Monte Carlo, Rome, Barcelona must be doubtful now.

That’s a big call as it’s a huge tournament.
Miami is next but I expect that will be called off.

The French Open has been rescheduled by the French to a date in September....which is a week after the US Open is currently due to end.
The US committee has released a more balanced statement.....they will consult with others before they just pick a date to suit themselves.

Nadal pulls out of the US Open end of the month.
(Fed is out injured). Novak who has had C19 will probably play.
A few of the top ladies have also pulled out.

The US ATP are adamant it goes ahead with no fans.

The French open is suppose to be end of Sept with 2 warm up clay tournaments:
Madrid open - now cancelled
Italian open - still on for now

The US or French don’t have insurance like Wimbledon who were able to give out prize money to all players who would have qualified. £10M in total Clap

Hopefully the French Open gets cancelled.

Would hate to see Nadal equal Federer.

US Open

Good match with Murray and Nishioka, Murray was 2 sets down but has fought back to 2 all.

Very close in the 5th

Novak Disqualified from the US open.
He hit a lines woman with the ball in anger.

We will have a new winner in 2020

This will serve as confirmation bias for Djokovic over his No-vaxx stance

He got the needle and it ended badly for him

I remember that happening to Tim Henman at Wimbledon circa 1995, it happened in the mixed doubles or something on an outside court, he hit a ball girl
