Trying San Fran instead of going back to new York so all tips welcome

Likely late July early August, will not be hiring a car probably 4 nights max . Decent hotel in good location ( preferably within walking distance of most things) circa 100 a night if possible
'Irish' Songs for an Irish team - no SPL EPL generic sh*te
Richard Dunne - 6th Sept 11 - best marshalling of a defence in Moscow since General Zukov Russia V Germany 1941

Stay in Union Square and you won't go far wrong.

I've always stayed in the Westin St Francis when I've been on holiday, there's others near by.

Book Alcatraz 6-8 months in advance also.

Pointless booking Alcatraz, has been closed for guests for years.

You won't get anywhere close to Union Square for your price range. SF has become extremely expensive in the last few years. You also don't need to book Alcatraz 6-8 months in advance, that's an absolute spoof but sure you shouldn't expect anything else from captain spoof himself.

Have to say the Alcatraz tour is bloody brilliant.
I would book well in advance as it is really popular.

This thread reminds me I like collecting airlines, I don't mean like Willie Walsh I mean like a passenger.

Air Greenland (GL, GRL)
http://www.airgreenland.com/

But I seen the remake of a version of the Walter Mitty book on tv last night and was very pleasantly surprised by both scenery and music.

(from a google search the film location airport is Holfn (HFN), Iceland.)

- Stay as close to Union Square as possible
- I did 2 tours of Alcatraz when I was there, the day tour and the night tour. Both excellent
- Hire bikes around Union Square and cycle over the Golden Gate bridge all the way across to Sausalito and have lunch there before returning with the bikes
- Do the open top tour bus which is pretty good
- They have Broadway shows (didn't go to one but a decent way to spend an evening)
- Spend a couple of hours walking around Fisherman's Wharf - loads of bars and restaurants etc around and it's the same area where you get the boat over to Alcatraz. Loads of sea lions randomly hand around a certain spot there too and is mad to look at
- Jump on a cable car and get dragged up the huge hills in the city

Loads to do there - we did 4 nights and it was perfect. Enjoy
I dont email the count anymore, its been 9 months : ( He even sent me a YBIG scarf for my Birthday
