Started getting terrible hangovers lately with the same amount of drink I normally have.  I normally am fairly fresh the next day but the last month have given me killer hangovers.

Is it a general rule that your hangovers are only going to get worse as you age?

Yeah, I get hangovers now even if I've only had about 6 the night before. I've also noticed that I get a lot drunker now than I did a few years ago with drinking the same amount.

The answer is yes. Your metabolism slows down and finds it more difficult to process the drink leading to worse hangovers. You will also start getting fatter and potentially balder. Enjoy.

I think my peak drinking was about 27/28, some serious decline since hitting mid 30's.
8 pints used to be a few midweek drinks, now it's a big weekend session.

I can drink more now than I could in my 20s but the hangovers, even after 5/6 pints, are way worse.

Arrived in Belgrade for the friendly in 2012 with one of the top 20 hangovers of all time, went to a chemist near the hotel Tash and asked for painkillers, she gave me a box of 400mg paracetamol which i turned down instantly,400mg is the strongest available here over the counter,500mg in Ireland, she returned with a box of 800mg brufen,a box of 40 for 2.30 Euro, honestly the best hangover cure ever, went back to the same chemist and bought 2 boxes in September.
