One time England hopeful Liam Kelly relegated from the football league today with Rochdale.

Where 2 did very well playing in a decent enough Dutch league. What’s your point caller?

Jack Byrne got relegated when he was there, Cambur finished bottom of the table.  He got a loan to Blackburn on the back of it where he didnt get a kick, and loan was cancelled.  You're down to one.  Your move.

Your point was it didn't work out? He got a loan move to Holland at a young age played football at a decent level and got a Championship loan at the age of 20 out of his regular football in Holland despite playing for a team that as you say were bottom of the League!

This is evidence that the loan to Holland benefitted him at that point! It went downhill from there. Also the continent there's more to the continent then Holland hoards of other countries.

Maybe if he'd gotten a League 1 loan it would have prepared him better for English football, which is where he was trying to make his mark.  Parrott got a reality check last year he may not have gotten if he had gone and got a few you tube clips of himself playing in the eredivisie against Ajax for some no hopers, like a lot of posters here would petition for.

I'm not saying Byrne is on their level, or comparing like for like, but maybe Cambuur had a terrible defence (like a lot of Dutch teams). This idea that their performance is inextricably linked to Byrne's performances or ability.

My point is I can look at Dara O'Shea and John Egan and see there was a bigger picture that lead to relegation. And for the individual player you would have to consider their time in the top flight a success.

Byrne isn't afforded the same benefit of the doubt. A moving narrative to suit someone's argument.

Dara O'Shea and John Egan got relegated last season. Does their relegation sum up their abilities or define their future progress?
You would hope not with those two especially o Shea.
Egan is over rated by us Clark is as good as Egan if not better.
One of the reasons Sheffield Utd went down last year was o Connell was injured for the season Egan wasn’t as good as him.

And as for Byrne his relegation does in my view define his ability LOI is his level this has been proven sadly to be the case.

If Jack Byrne had played the amount of top level football those two have played this would be a very different discussion. Don't see how either player is remotely comparable to Byrne's situation, not least because he was relegated as part of the worst team in the Eredivisie that year, whereas they were playing EPL.

Crowley and Byrne did well in Holland the mistakes they both made was moving back to England and not staying on the continent I have seen a number use them as examples for a weird reason! They moved to Holland and got "bigger moves" off this they should have looked to have stayed on the continent

Kelly is the exception but the fact he went from Reading to a club with the tradition of Feyenoord tells you plenty. It's worked out very well for Cullen.
