Not an historic Irish shirt but an exhibit of real historical interest to Irish football fans has just been secured and will be added to the irelandsoccershirts.com website shortly.

The actual boots Alan McLoughlin was wearing when he scored THAT goal v Northern Ireland in Windsor Park, Belfast on 17th November 1993 that saw us qualify for the World Cup Finals in the USA in 1994.

O Neills suffered from the football shirt version of Tourettes in the mid 1980s by churning out a new shirt style nearly every game!!!Thankfully another of them has just arrived today which leaves just a few left to complete the O Neills era.

David O Learys shirt v England at Wembley in 1985.O Leary came on as a 2nd half sub for Paul McGrath hence the number 12.

A real life piece of Irish football history from nearly 27 years ago this November. The warm glow of the memories from that night will never fade for those who remember it happening in front of our eyes. The next generation of Irish players and fans can also be inspired by it and take a leaf out of Alan McLoughlis book.Always show up,always be ready and never stop believing.

He did, he is their all-time top goalscorer too. Not bad for a centre-half!

Think he's being playing since 1997 and  has 11 goals

A lovely new addition to the project from our World Cup Qualification campaign in 1984/85 when a loss to Denmark was to mark the last game of Eoin Hands tenure as Irish manager.

Bringing artifacts from our proud footballing history out of the darkness and into the light.Sincere thanks to David Kelly for donating so many items to the project.A gentleman.

This is David Kellys Euro 1988 official blazer and shirt from Irelands first ever Tournament. Kellys late father as a tradition used to proudly wear his sons Euro 88/Italia 90 and USA 94 blazers to Kelly family functions or events. After his dad passed away they were nearly thrown out with other old belongings.Thankfully they were kept so it is really brilliant to add them to the archive.

Many of the Euro 1988 blazers did not survive as the players "celebrations" in dublin after the homecoming led to the embroidered pocket being ripped from the jacket!!!Thankfully these three jackets/shirts/ties from 1988,1990 and 1994 are still in pristine condition nearly 30 years after it was first worn and features a beautifully embroidered German flag overlayed with the FAI crest.
