Great work all.

I have signed up.

I believe in this new FAI and I believe in those on the committee pending the removal of Joseph McGlue and the other facilitators in seniors executive management positions which I am sure will happen with your representations.

It is evident that the Department took on board the matters raise by Tony and reflected it in the MOU and serves to highlight how respected he is as Council Rep

The nice words are much appreciated, folks. The fact that a number of points raised in our GRG submission and in out larger 'Starting XI for Irish Football' document were definitely taken on board is rewarding.

Obviously the rest of the Mandate committee have been instrumental in bringing us to this point. The Business Committee that Kev McDaid was elected onto hasn't met yet due to the paralysis in the association and we raised how ridiculous it was that the likes of him and Dan Lambert from Bohs who was also elected to the Commercial Committee last October weren't being utilised at the EGM. I'd expect things to start moving on that front now the finances have been turned back on.

But we have also had great support from some other stakeholders. Stephen McGuinness and the PFAI have been huge allies for us in a situation where we didn't have many.

The Irish Supporters Network have been excellent. Niamh  O'Mahony in particular is a very sharp operator and will be a superb sports administrator in future if she chooses to go that route. She's exactly the sort of person who should be involved in a new FAI.

Also has to be said that Brian Hehir and the current CRISC Committee have been very supportive of the approach we've taken. A lot has been said in the past but in my view there's definitely a place for supporters clubs in the broader supporter movement. It's better for everybody if their voice is represented by a central body rather than a load of individual clubs jostling for positon. There's now a route for everyone to have a say, clubs through CRISC and independent fans through the Mandate. We're never going to see eye to eye on everything but we're proving we can work together.

Great to have people involved like Drumcondra 69er, Niamh O'Mahony etc these people obviously have a great love and passion for the game and makes a change to have people in the game to see what they can give as opposed to the previous regime in all they wanted  to see what they could get out of the game.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.

The YBIG Independent Supporters Mandate would like to acknowledge the hard work done by the FAI ticket office in relation to the allocation of tickets for next month's Euro 2020 play-off in Slovakia.

Over 4,500 ticket applications for the allocation of 2,200 were received. While we have sympathy for any supporters that missed out, our information is that everyone with a season ticket and two of the eight games used to determine the allocation on their record was successful.

This represents a fair bar and makes a welcome change from previous occasions with similar demand when a requirement of five or six games was closer to the norm for many supporters.

As previously stated, we note that 'a revised travel and match ticketing (home and away) policy to be approved by the Board and agreed with the Governance Oversight Group' is included within the terms of the Government rescue deal. We look forward to contributing to that process. It is our belief that this should ensure that allocations for future oversubscribed games will be run as fairly as this one.

Thank you for your continued support.

YBIG Independent Supporters Mandate - Consultation period on adoption of new constitution

The below has been issued to all members this evening. If you have signed up and did not recieve the email then please get in touch at ybigmandate@gmail.com.

To all members,

We hope this mail finds you and yours safe and well in what continues to be the strangest of years. The impact of Covid-19 had been keenly felt within the football supporters movement with games continuing behind closed doors and hopefully next year we can get back into stadia to get back to doing what we do best.

Unfortunately, the disappointing play-off penalty shoot-out defeat to Slovakia means that we won't get to experience playing in a major tournament on home soil. However, the rebuild that Stephen Kenny is undertaking was never going to bring overnight success and with a bit of luck that elusive first victory will come during this international window.

The lockdown has also added complications to pursuing our own agenda which has proved very difficult under the circumstances. However, there have obviously been some  developments since our last update.

The YBIG Mandate was originally created in 2016 as what was essentially a lobby group in order to give a voice to fans who were not part of the Supporters Clubs network and had been excluded from any decision making process on matters that affected them by the FAI. Volunteers to sit on a committee were sought and, having been nominated and seconded by members, we began efforts to rebuild a relationship with the FAI and also to lobby for a unified voice of supporters’ clubs, other supporters representative groups and independent supporters on areas of mutual interest.

Having made a degree of progress, the subsequent governance issues that engulfed the FAI and led to the setting up of the Governance Review Group completely changed the landscape. As you are aware, the GRG report recommended that two supporters reps take seats on an expanded FAI Council, conditional on a representative structure covering the three groups who had issued submissions to the GRG (ourselves, CRISC and ISN) being agreed. To cover this, the Irish Football Supporters Partnership was formed, with a committee consisting of three members of each group overseeing it. This group has worked successfully together over the last year since holding our first Irish Football Supporters Forum in Lansdowne Road last November.

As part of this ongoing process, our committee have decided that there is a need to formalise how our own group is structured for the future. To do this, we have drawn up a draft constitution which is shared below. As this is your group and we are only representatives, and as any constitution obviously reflects the will of the group members, all members will have a full opportunity to have their say on the draft constitution.

We are therefore allowing a two-week consultation period for you to raise any queries or give any feedback you may have on the document. Once that period has finished at close of business on Friday 27th November, the Committee will consider the feedback provided and review and, as appropriate, amend the draft Constitution. After this review, the adoption of the new Constitution will be put to a vote of members. Any feedback from members can be sent to ybigmandate@gmail.com.

We would also call on any members interested in getting involved at committee level to get in touch a the above email. Details on the process involved are covered within the draft document shared and it is the intention to hold committee elections, if required, in tandem with an AGM in the new year.

Thank you for your continued support.

To all members,

Further to our mail to you on November 13 2020, the ballot for ratification of the Constitution document shared is now open and will close on January 11 2021.

Following feedback and giving consideration to the proposed changes in FAI governance structures, all references to FAI Council in the original draft have been changed to FAI General Assembly. The revised document can be viewed on the ballot form.

Should a majority of members ratify our Constitution, it will be adopted once the new FAI General Assembly is ratified. An FAI EGM on that change is to be scheduled in the near future.

It is of the utmost importance that as many members as possible vote so that we can continue to use the mandate you have given us to try and build a brighter future for our game, particularly after all the upheaval of the last two years. The process will take less than a minute of your time.

Your ballot can be accessed by clicking on the below link. In order to validate your vote, you will need to provide the email address that you registered as a member with.

Thank you for your continued support.

Ballot open till the 11th, Murph. Thumbs Up

If any members on here didn't get an email ballot then contact us at ybigmandate@gmail.com and we'll sort it out. We've had a few bounce backs from obvious typos in email addressess which we've corrected where possible (eg. gnail.com, gmail.con etc) but also had some from work emails where people have changed jobs.
