I was reading online that fans that would normally of stood at Upton Park are being thrown out of the new stadium. The new fans and tourists not happy with people standing. What did they think was going to happen like, that they'd just sit down in the new bowl.

At Upton Park there was always certain sections (BM Lower) where fans stood, now that there's an influx of ST holders (50 odd thousand) all over the Olympic Stadium so it's a bit messy. As for the scaffolding and empty seats, Newham Council restricted the attendance from 60,000 to 57,000 due to safety concerns

A lot of fans not happy with the new stadium. ''You got your stands in IKEA!''

Apparently they were pumping artificial crowd noise into the stands through the PA system today
The move to that stadium was a disaster. |

A football stadium with the track still there is surely a massive no no. In terms of atmosphere, I presume the closer the stands are to the pitch the better in terms of crowd volume.

Stadio delle Alpi Mark II. Its not a football stadium. It's an athletics stadium masquerading as a football stadium with temporary seats miles from the pitch. |

The stadium is fine. The current issues relate to seating policy, the family enclosure, and the away end, the latter of which have been rectified. I have been to each game there, and it is nowhere near the SDA. That is a fact that I can confirm as a ST holder. The real problems are on the pitch with the playing staff.

Het-field, were you a season ticket holder/ regular at Upton Park? If so, do you miss it?

I was a regular at the BG. Naturally, there is plenty I miss about it, however, this move gives the club a real shot at progress. I believe that it was in the best interests of the club, particularly with all other London clubs developing, or redeveloping. The scope for redevelopment of the BG appears to have fallen by the wayside, and the infrastructural difficulties would have been significant to overcome.

How long before West Ham move out of this dump? I give it 5 years before they build their own stadium.
