Wouldn't say boo to a goose, or wouldn't say boo to a ghost?

Heard ghost for the first time, I suppose it would make more sense than saying boo to a goose.

Anybody with any taste is in a panic trying to turn the radio off.

Is that not the very reason it is used? It is to describe a time that seems a long distance away, hence the phrase!!!
