I don't really see the issue here. McClean, and Mr. Rice, were both not proud to be where they were and so sodded off to play for someone else. He's hardly a hypocrite for espousing his own advice.

"His own advice"?

He's saying that if you're not fully committed to a given national team, then you shouldn't just use them as a "stepping stone" to your real choice of team.

That's right, the same man who used NI as a stepping stone to ROI/Sunderland and who accepted a call-up to the senior NI team which would have tied him, before Sunderland/Quinn swooped at the last minute and caused him to waken from his coma and remember that he was "A proud Irishman all along, who only ever wanted to play for Ireland blah blah blah..."

Jeez, you couldn't make it up - except he has! Confused

James McClean, formerly of my parish, came out with a comment on international eligibility which appeared to me to be so hypocritical as to be risible.

I pointed this out.

Nowhere did I get personal with another poster, use offensive or objectionable language, stray from the subject of the thread or otherwise break any rule that I can see.

Now you may not like or agree with what I posted, but if so, why not say how/why, rather than threatening to censor me?

Think he is dead right about McClean. Double standards.

Terri's entitled to make his complaints about McClean, same way we can have grievances about Rice. Banning him is a bit harsh.

Also, that picture he posts of McClean is like his version of the Scouce Boom/Bust cycle.

We've all known for years that McClean isn't the sharpest tool in the box.

He sees himself as some form of a senior players' spokesman, making statements on all manner of issues.

The journos must love it as they can be guaranteed of something hypocritical, nonsensical, emotional.

Where, in his early professional days, someone obviously succeeded in getting him off Twitter, they should now try to stop him speaking to.the press.

In fairness to McClean he never played a senior international for the North unlike the snake that is Declan.
