We should all be allowed to vote at home.It sounds like the kind of policy the Lib Dems would get behind.

He comes across as a nice guy and is doing a great job for England. Not sure he would be much fun to get on the beers with though.

Owl waistcoat Southgate could also pay him a visit and spout BS to him

Really hope Rice stays with us but if he doesn't he doesn't and you have to feel sorry for him whenever he goes against an Irish player lol.

No denying he had his head turned by Southgate.

Excellent work, deserved a better response LOLClap

When is Mick meeting him?
It was far across the sea,
When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

I only comment on the funny ones now,  otherwise I would double my already large post count!
Mind you, 'baited breath' did tickle me a bit.

Indeed. When he first pulled out of a squad and it was reported that he'd spoken with Southgate I thought that that was that and his protestations to the contrary was only so much PR and damage limitation. But it does in actually sound like he is genuinely torn, and the fact that he's prepared to speak to Mick tells you that there is reason to remain hopeful.

I was the same myself and was very pissed off about the fact.

He will hold discussion with him in December. Anything happen yet?

Mick was interviewed at the RTE Sports Awards last night and it wasn't mentioned.

I have the feeling that nothing came of it, it all seems to have went fairly quietly.

This is my worry too. Was waiting with hope and excitement last week..... Im now feeling the incoming disappointment in the new year is coming. He is Irish captain material for next 10 years.

If he doesn't declare soon (real soon) he should be told that's it- you've blown your chance. You've chosen England as far as we're concerned. We desperately need him come March and if he if he won't play ball then he should be told where to go. I am fed up of stringing us along keeping his foot in both camps.  It's obvious he wants to play for England and is just seeing how his form pans out to see if he will get a  call up for them.  Until then we are his fall back plan.

We should be taking that away from him come Feb.
