Just pay the extra to have a seat by the front door.

Although if they use remote stands all that will get you is onto the bus first.

Don't bother with the meal. Their snacks like panini's etc are reasonably priced.

Flew to LA with them last year. It was like going to a Gah match with hang sandwiches and tin foil everywhere

Same as myself, hoping to book in next few weeks. Will probably pick London Luton-Kutaisi route and back.....including Dublin to London Luton I don't think it will exceed €350 return

Flight out is Shannon - Providence €159
New York (Stewart) - Belfast was €121

Flights over and back to the States for 280 is some price.

Anyone relying on trains to and from Kutaisi should be able to start booking them now. I've just booked the Thursday trains down from Rioni to Gori and Gori to Tbilisi (going to Uplistsikhe on the way). The Friday ones are also on sale now, as it's 40 days away.

The Sunday and Monday trains back up to Kutaisi will be going on sale on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, as they all go on sale 40 days in advance.

Travel article, can't link it as on phone
Cheers Bob, that's an interesting article. Only problem I see is the distance of those towns from Tbilisi. You would need a full week in Georgia to do it justice however the option of internal flights would save you from getting a serious pain in the arse from travelling by road. Kazbegi imo would be a better option for those caught for time.

Thanks for that, SD.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but:
Carriage with numbered reserver seats (Modern) = just a seat?
II Class (Modern) = plascartny dormitory 3-tier bunks
Compartment carriage (Modern) = coupe 4-beded lockable cabin
Soft-seated carriage (Modern) = spalny-wagon SV 2x single bed carriage

I do wish they would use the old Russian system on their site ;-)

Jaysus we booked Dublin Tbilisi with Turkish via Istanbul a few months back for just over €400. It's €950 now!

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
