Well, maybe but then look at Troy Parrott at Millwall, a mid Championship team loan and he had an awful time of it, that division is a pure beast of a thing and sides fighting like lunatics for points in the middle of it aren't creating chance after chance for young guys to learn to finish.

Brighton however, are creating lots of chances because week on week, pundits are on about the chances they have missed  ( not just Connolly, all their finishers ). If they find a guy to convert they will be very comfortable in the division, if they don't it will cost Potter his job ultimately so I expect him to go shopping again and Connolly really needs to become part of the solution before that happens.

He finished these type chances all through his development, he finished them V Spurs early on too. No one can do this for him and he neds to start converting at this level and very soon.

Ha yea I was going to caveat it by saying not Millwall! I think he should be able to get interest from quite a few sides and pick one that suits his style of play. As you said he has finished those chances underage and had a great goal scoring record so I feel his issues are down to rustiness or a lack of confidence and needs a consistent run.

I find the Potter bashing on this thread bizarre. He repeatedly uses Connolly and gives him lots of starts despite the fact Connolly doesn't score to often, do you actually think Potter is BAD for his career?

We should be delighted Potter is giving him so much trust, in most other Premier League clubs he wouldn't be getting a sniff.

It would damage this forums' reputation

Potter rates Connolly you can tell this. He has to start putting away simple chances though. He struck me as a lad against Finland a few months back the lack of goals is playing with him. He did so much right in that game but every chance he got it was head down almost headbanger like at the expense of a better option. He acknowledged as much in his interview afterwards about being selfish.

I remember his goal in his senior debut in the League Cup it looked simple but his finish was so calm composed. He seems to have lost that. Very frustrating as he’s talented. None of Brighton’s attackers are firing either to put it mildly.

Connolly is getting a lot of chances to show what he can do, that Is all Potter can really do.

It's up to connolly to take the chances and make himself umdropable, he hasn't really done that yet. I think the regular injuries are the issue rather than Potter

No, I don't know much about Connolly, but I do know about Brentford.

And if you read my first post it was all about ex-Brentford man Maupay, alongside whom Connolly is competing to play (or instead of).

My second post was in response to the suggestion that Connolly should go out on loan to Brentford (or Norwich or Bournemouth). The point being that you can't just select random clubs that you'd like a player to go to on loan, since it has to suit the borrowing club too. Which rules out Brentford, at any rate.

Now, what was it you were saying about "thick"? Clown

Injury doubt for tomorrow with a late fitness test on a back issue due.

Can't get any sort of run or form together in what can best be described as a 'stop-start season' and that's being generous.
