An interesting one lads would Brighton getting relegated be a blessing in disguise for Connolly and even Molumby? They will likely sell 4/5 players then and Connolly and Molumby I suspect would benefit from this being regular starters and they would come straight back up I’d think with the quality they have.

I referenced Damien Duffs career in comparison to Connolly before but Duff at 20/21 and 21/22 years of age played in the Championship for Blackburn before coming back up with them. This is Duff who a few on here says they “knew he was a star”. Looking at Duffs CV it’s just interesting he did spend those 2 years dropping a division with Blackburn.

Every year the PL has a too good to go down, too good to go down, too good to go down, oh sh*t they are down team and Brighton scream that to me this year.

People often think that but it rarely works out. Think over the last 10 years, I cannot remember one occasion where relegation worked in one of our young players favour. The reality is that teams relegated from the premier league are under massive pressure to bounce right back, so their last inclination is to start flooding the team with youngsters. They want tried and tested.

Connolly isn’t a “youngster” in the sense he’s an established squad member at this stage if that makes sense?? Molumby fair enough I accept that point.

Adam Idah a case in point actually I did think he’d be back up to Pukki but Norwich not alone kept Pukki but signed Hugill also.

FA Cup next week hopefully Molumby gets a runout.

Well exactly, Connolly is already an established premier league player so what would we want him to be relegated for? Molumby is the only one who might benefit from it but as history has shown that doesn't tend to happen.

Brighton will come straight back up anyways and he’d be a regular starter in the Championship he drops a level finds form finds confidence. Not that his form as been bad.

Bissouma Lallana Maupay Trossard will all angle for moves certainly. Would benefit our two.

Reason I ask is to be blunt it’s a distinct possibility the way Brighton are going at the moment.

He has scored 2 goals in 11 games. I wouldn't consider that to be of a natural goal scorer.

That is all.

he got 2 goals in like 580 minutes of football that is six full games not eleven . he has eleven appearance not eleven games
Funny, that's precisely the exact same kind of inane, hair splitting comment O'Shea would have made, word for word Ermm

Yeah but if you're doing more upper body then lower surely you're putting increased load on your hamstrings?

Anyway, I'm sure the Brighton sports science team know what they're at.

Depends on the type of weight training he's doing. But you'd imagine that S&C coaches/Sport Scientists at PL clubs have them on the correct programmes. Loads of other factors to consider then; does he eat right/recover properly etc. No evidence to suggest he doesn't, apart from recurring injuries.

His hamstring issues could be down to him being an explosive player who plays near to full pace most of the time.

I notice that forward Percy Tau makes his first start for Brighton today after being recalled from his loan spell in Belgium.

A little more competition for Connolly.

With all the rotation, among their forward line anyway, it's really a pity that Molumby couldn't have been given more of a chance to show what he can do.

Still injured sadly so doesn't play today. Didn't think the injury was that serious but it seems to have kept him out for a few games now

You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"
