Well it seems to be a great success by the sounds of it. Some revenue figures.

agm very pleasant news tonight, I’d no idea we were doing so well financially, considering there’s absolutely zero outside investment propping the figures up.

Hard to justify DCC spend on the the redevelopment unless the pitch was being turned 90 degrees and the residual land on the site used for other purposes as was the plan. Take in the fact that they've also lost the tolka land too, and you'd have to say the Council have made a balls of the whole thing by not getting on with it earlier.

Not bad news for bohs though, who will get improved facilities but will be another classic example of an Irish three sided stadium as they won't be able to do anything on the shopping centre end.

I don’t think you’ll hear many complaints to be honest, there’s a lot of benefits to this, the plans announced for the refurb sound both realistic & exciting.

Fantastic stuff all round , potential for a 9k with a 2k terrace at the shed end .
"The Football Grounds of Europe" about Dalymount that :- "You walk down lanes you'd expect to find a backstreet mechanic only to stumble onto a national stadium steeped in tradition and history"

plan now is, new stand capacity 3-5k on Connaught st side, covered terrace at school end, small terrace at tramway end and internal redevelopment of the Jodi, 2026 new completion date.
One upside is it’ll be a sand based soil pitch so proper grass surface.

Is that actually likely to happen though? As Tom pointed out, there doesn't seem to be any benefit to the community here so ultimately can the council justify this spend?
This isn't a Rovers fan having a go by the way, I'm actually concerned that nothing ends up happening which would be a great shame. Whilst I wasn't a fan of the look of the original plans, another new ground in the league with the potential to host more than just Bohs games would have been great.

The main entrance and its murials / paintings are treasure alone - where in Europe will you see this . If the Jodi is just getting a coat of paint and a good hoover then thats a winner as the tradition of the place will be kept - as per a lot of your lot wanting AND true football fans everywhere ditto . Just make sure the away end has a cap of at least 2k and a jasizz roof .

Its absolutely unfathomable that Shels couldnt come on board on this. Typical Irish backward sh1te. Oh ya lets save Tolka Park. For what. Its a dump and its been a dump for years now. Shels have an average crowd of a few thousand. Ground sharing a brand new shiny stadium.oh no not for us. How are we ever going to progress our facilities with these old age attitudes. Chances are in 10 years time not a thing will have happened except both teams playing in 1950s conditions. Plans plans plans. How much money is wasted on plans and designs in the LOI over the years? Enough to build 2 stadiums probably.

And more than 2 portaloos! Brought the father in law there for Harps match a few years ago. He absolutely loved it but as an elderly man he struggled with the queue so will be hard to get him back! Sounds like great news for Bohs though!

Community facilities planned for the new stand on Connaught st side is what we’re told.

40m worth? The whole project is a debacle. It will only benefit bohs end. The same idiots in DCC wouldn't agree a cost neutral land swap with pats who didn't need a cent to build a better, modern stadium because *checks notes** houses were a priority.

Gonna be the cynic here. But I think its just kite flying by DCC to tell us what We could win in the future as they take away the community based stadium. And We are falling for it

Dalymount was meant to be demolished in 2017. 7 years of work has now been wiped out and We are back to square 1. A notion on the back of an envelope.
