The working group has by now received a mandate from several hundred supporters, with this number growing on an ongoing basis.  The majority of these supporters are season ticket holders and regular away travellers.  We intend to make contact with the FAI and other key stakeholders, seeking to establish an agreed communication channel for independent supporters.

We will seek to engage with the FAI on the following issues, among others:

  • Improving atmosphere at home and away fixtures

  • Ticketing Issues

  • Future direction of Fans’ Direct

The group encourages anyone who would like to become involved or would like to suggest initiatives to please get in touch.

We will continue to provide updates on the progress of this initiative at regular intervals.

Are all above STH if not with 80 FD points per season for 4 Seasons that is 320 points
to better a STH who went to friendly in Cork. An away fans would need 17 aways over 4 Seasons

I still believe a ST  worth 2 points with an away game worth a point is a better balance and more fair - a season ticket is not a level playing field for obvious reasons

So someone who goes to home games without an ST say 3 the glamour games each season gets how many points ?
People can afford to spend €300 on each away game but not less than half that on an ST.

It's easier to fly into Dublin for home games than it is to use public Transport from Kerry Donegal or Clare where every home game is 2 days off work. Flying in from London can be done on a half day. Flights are cheaper than planes.

AN ST should be
ST 8
Home game 1
Away 1.
Given that the FAI make more money on home tickets an alternative would be.
ST 16
Homes 2
Aways 1

You can fly return from from Edinburgh €39 London £42 Trains out 24th back 25th from Cork €60 average(to early to book online and I believe there is a price hike on Trains in 2017). Remember flights from these cities are already booked by fans of both teams pushing up the cost of these flights.
You can also take a half days holiday and make the game from these cities.
It was cheaper to fly from Bordeaux to Lille than take the train.

It's not just cost it's also time off

I can nip outa work earler and still make it down to Dublin in time for a game others may need a half day up to 2 days if coming from abroad

Living abroad a ST mighten be practical and you shouldn't be prevented from going to an away game because you don't have a st

Notwithstanding the vast majority of away regulars are st holders

Individual home games shouldn't be included unless you hire a team of admin people to manage the scheme keep it simple

Your points totals gets adjusted

At the start of each campaign
After each away game

Therefore 6 times in 2 year it's not rocket science folks

People from Donegal and Kerry need 2 days off work for home games too.

Living abroad saves you money and time on away days. Most use UK or Germany to get to games. So on the away days it is easier and cheaper to make the games on home days it's not and it's the other way around come home games. Fans that travel to both over the season make the same effort and this needs to be acknowledged.
The FAI are skint and need to reward those who attend games.
People should be able to but home tickets through their FD points.
I bet most of those who cherry pick home games missed Georgia and will have no problem taking time off and paying for flights for next 2 home games if not next 3 home games.

Not quite.

You found flights from Bordeaux to Lille for 15 euro per person?

Like everything, it depends when you booked.
