I’m getting the ferry to France next week with my wife and four kids. Car and cabin for the night and it’s only marginally more expensive than that.

I doubt security was 2 hours am flying every week and the longest it’s ever been 1 hour max - they likely had a bag drop which took the time

Currently down to 20 mins when I fly which isn’t the worst - edit today was 5 mins

As was said the airpirt website gives security times which tbh is what more airports should do - Gatwick being a prime example where the usual 5 mins has gone to 30 mins for no apparent reasons

How long ago did ya book that? I was half looking this year for that trip and it was working out about €1300 return for the trip

I meant 1 way. It’s probably around the €1,200 mark. We used Tesco vouchers for about €250 so it’s coming in under a grand. Booked it about 3 months ago.

If I flew and rented a car it would cost me way more than that. I’d need to hire a 7 seater also.

Seems to be getting their act together at least security wise - 5 mins max the last 2 weeks on a Tuesday at 0600

Gatwick going the opposite way used to be 5 mins was about 30 mins last Thursday

Flying from Dublin, EIRE, to Manchester UK next week.  Is there the same delays there was a while back?  Do I need to turn up a few hours before?

What I found over the summer was that I was queuing longer at check-in rather than security.

Queued longer for a coffee than I did getting through security in T1.

Something I dont get is people in big queues for pints at 6am.  That time of the day I am looking for orange juice and  coffee and breakfast. I am tired and want to go to sleep.

the time of day has no relevance when it comes to airport pints, just sit back and enjoy. Looking forward to trying the new Guinness Bar in T1 when heading out to Glasgow in a couple of weeks.

Was decent when I was there in July. Staff knew how to pour them.
