No more former internationals they dont have a winning attitude or have the ability to turn an average team into a great one.We must go foreign and think outside the box.Holland is filled with great managers great visionarys and most importantly managers with great tactical nouse. If we appoint o leary aldo or somebody of this ilk im finished with international football

i heard paul merson being interviewed on newstalk not so long ago about when he was manager at walsall. he basically said staunton kept getting injured as a player so to give him something to do while he was recovering, he was called defensive coach.

Lads I reckon, Aldo or O'Leary wouldnt be too bad. I'd defo give Paul Jewell a go if we could get him. and what about Roy Hodgson? or even George Graham? At least theyve all managed and made a decent fist of it at times. Not like as an assistant coach at a League 2 club who has a vocabulary smaller than a cabbage patch doll

The FAI wouldn't even be able to afford Steven Kennys wages lads as that be money that has been put aside for their xmas party.....hence they appointed the cheapest option in the world aka....Mr. Stephen Staunton.
Sure they even asked me but I get paid more in my current position...

I'm not against a foreign manager at all sure we would all love an Irishman in the post who could bring us success but cannot for the life of me think who, just want the team to look like they are playing to some kind of plan and with passion and of course to qualify for tournaments and naturally to win them so not much really.

steve bruce? Bruce arena ( new name for landsdowne rd there!) arena is a shrewd tactician - who plays players in their right positions. He has gone and outdone the mexicans in the azteca (and at home to!) when was the last tiem we beat a highly ranked world team in front of 80 thousand of their own fans?

don't believe in just getting Irish  manager in, the only Irish manager that could take it and get us somewhere is Martin O'Neill and the w##kers at the FAI would not fork out for him!!Have no problems with a foreign manager as long as he is experienced and has got the know how!!!
Liverpool F.C go deo..

The problem I see is the FAI will only pick a gaffer who will buy into their agenda (not sure what that is beside making money) or who does not have the experience/confidence to tell them 'No' and demand changes without fear of loosing the support of the FAI.  Clearly fan support does not matter as long as it doesn't affect the fiscal bottom line.  They have plenty of money to hire a quality manager... they just don't want to spend it.

I'm not being too realistic here, but hey, either are the fai!Sir Alex is the only man that I can think of who would have the savvy to sort out the mess that is our national side at the moment. Problems like the Stephen Ireland thing would be addressed properly. He's proved he works well with young inexperienced players and he has the balls to get rid of twats like Beckham. And his accent is a little easier to understand than the current manager.
Think aldo would fit the bill when it comes to passion and probly a more realistic target alright.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
