Ya id agree. Gave Molde way too much space at the start of the 2nd half. Yes they upped it but we seen in the 1st half there not much better than Dundalk. Not going to get any easier.

Think Rovers would have won that game. Molde were pretty ordinary
Dundalk not the team they were. Gartland, Rodgers and Gannon have been great servants to them but they are not up to it at this level anymore. They'll do extremely well to pick up even 1 point in this group

They need to get another decent striker in. Yes Hoban is a good player and holds the ball up well but hes made no impact on any of the European games really. Has he ever scored in Europe? They need something different up top. Maybe go 2 uptop cause there not creating enough goalscoring chances.

Yeah I think when Irish teams make group stages they need to go raiding the load list or free agents lists from UK, there's bound to be a few strikers over there that would be more likely to get you a goal and would be willing to come in for 6 months and a go at European football. Kinda like what Rovers did with Rohan Rickets.

Barcelone would have beaten them too, But it was Dundalk that was playing them, not anyone else.

I'm not sure what ordinary is? They are a better team than us with better players, and showed that in the second half.

What did Gartland and Rodgers do wrong last night? We limited them to 2 shots on target, one a deflection and the other a peno. Ganno was in a protective boot just over 2 weeks ago. It our midfield that is our weak link not the defence.

That was out best chance of a point last night but this entire group stage is a free shot at every game, no one in Dundalk thinks otherwise.

It's the El group stages, a bit of perspective is needed.

I think most outside Dundalk (and many in it) think Rodgers hasn't been good enough for a few years now but nothing he could have done for the 1st goal with the massive deflection. Gartland has been a great servant but again didn't think he did too much wrong last night, even put in a half decent cross int he end and he's always been good in the air and a goal threat.

Lovely goal by Dundalk.  A real get you off your seat type of goal.   Agree with shoco that molde just showed they are a better team in the  second half.  Upped the pace and accuracy to their passing and stepped up a little and put real pressure on.  Sometimes teams hold out and the other team get frustrated but once they got the first goal molde were always going to get the second.

IIRC Ricketts didn't score and possibly didn't assist in Europe, so it's fair from guaranteed success plucking a free agent from the UK

I'm not saying they should sign Rohan Rickets, but when they have such a weakened squad and such a relative windfall, they should try to get some backup at least for 6 months that would give them a chance to compete

He had a few assists in the league, and scored the winner in the Derry game that effectively clinched the league title.

Jim Patterson was also a very good signing.

Not a terrible performance- poor GK lead to the first goal.

I expect Arsenal will score a few more in the 2nd half. It’s a second string team all looking to impress.

Stuck in well after 2 sloppy goals in the 1st half. Pity they didnt trouble Arsenal at all up top. Thought Gartland has played well. Ref has gone easy a few times on them. Havent been shamed or anything.
