Sarah Keane CEO of Swim Ireland elected the new President of the OCI
Pleasant surprise as was fully sure the majority of them would be self serving f**kers and vote for Pat's buddy Willie O'Brien JD next to go please Edited by Denis Irwin - 09 Feb 2017 at 9:59pm |

Something of a landslide too. Seemed from the outside like the best candidate, so good luck to her.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call Don't stand in the doorway Don't block up the hall For the times they are a-changing |

"Perhaps the reason that they did not consider the worst, was because discussion of such cases would have cast suspicion on the planner as being a "saboteur". Paranoia was rampant throughout."

Willie O'Brien was so incompetent even his buddies probably knew it was best not to vote him in.
Instead they went for someone they already know and has been around the last 3/4 years . Be interesting to see is there any changes or is she more of the same. |

One of her quotes (from last month) is very true:
"..I do believe that there are changes required in relation to how the board operated and that needs a wide group of people to believe in that level of change in order to implement it" Edited by Hickster74 - 09 Feb 2017 at 11:31pm |

there's a definite change in the committee environment considering that keane herself has only been involved in the past two years, but also there are seven new members. irrespective of their background, it is great to see such changes actually happen
The seven new executive committee members are Denis Toomey (Paralympics), Georgina Drumm (athletics), Lochlann Walsh (triathlon), Robert Johnson (hockey), Ciaran Gallagher (gymnastics), PJ Nolan (cycling) and Darren O’Neill (boxing).

Pat's 'buddy' was a complete gobsh*te. I genuinely have no other words for him. 1st time I saw/heard him speak was outside a Rio hospital responding to the news of Hickey's arrest. He came across as the most braindead eejit you'd ever meet. His interview on Radio 1 a couple of weeks ago confirmed such. You'd know he was a car dealer from any distance.

Good man Tony, doing the fair thing and selling them off to the highest bidder. D*ckhead.
Would be funny if say, he got a bunch of rapidly escalating offers... https://www.donedeal.ie/sporttickets-for-sale/ireland-v-wales-soccer-tickets-for-sale/14843439 Edited by E2016 - 01 Mar 2017 at 2:34pm |
