Watched the opening game last night between Canada (who are the hosts) v China purely becasuse I won a few bob on the champions league final and decided the lump it all on Canada who where 4/9 and China where 7/1......going by the odds you'd think Canada would steam roll them.not so....1 nil to Canada in the 93rd min with the most dodgy peno you've ever seen(needless to say I'll never be betting on women's football again).the game was played in front of 55,000 people and was Canada who are ranked 8th in the world against China who are ranked 12th.but what got me think is what level is international women's footabll at....I was thinking last night a half decent junior team would beat either team last night, and I mean a half decent side, the sheriffs, crumlins, tolkas,St Paul's etc I think would beat them in a canter.
