€ 4 million on debt servicing for the Aviva
€ 420,000 went on buying a few hundred corporate tickets for disgruntled Ireland supporters for the Scotland away game.
€ 2000 on green FAI ties.
€ 18000 to expensive English legal firms to deny truthful reporting & threaten injunctions against media outlets reporting same.
€ 500,000 on PR firms, reasons unknown.
€ 25,000 to Eircom, mainly for phonecalls to Jack & Kevan Grealish.
€ 25,000 to Abbey Travel, just to make a tiny dent in that debt..........
€ 5000 for beer, food & hotel facilities for official SC gatherings
€ 4000 to Shels to buy a floodlight (the budget didn't extend as far as a full set of them)
€ 95.50 unaccounted for. Thought to be planted on some FAI member's credit card for a porn channel subscription in a Faroese hotel, just in case he gets uppity in the future & need to be kept in line.
€ 4.50 to the setting up of Fans Direct. This money hasn't actually been spent on anything yet, and is still gathering interest @ 1% PA. By the year 3026, it is hoped this will finally come in to existence.

On a genuine note, will the actual amount that the FAI claimed was spent on these tickets (was it somewhere in the region of € 6000 ? ) show up somewhere in the figures ? I know it should in the real world, but this is the FAI after all.

LOL

Was it not 150 tickets at €150 a head? Over €20k. If theres no other reason they'll prevent it happening again its that.

Glad he was asked the question about the €5m. Caught off guard and was found out.

So hes finally admitted it 100%. Big mistake it looks like as the public have picked up on it and now see it for what it was.

Taking money not to take legal proceedings is more or less a back hander/bribe for the benefit of an Association that he had assisted in leading into great debt. The ship was sinking and all of a sudden he gets an offer of €5m to shut up.

In the world of football with the way things are, this is completely out of order.

How much is playing in the World Cup actually worth to the FAI though? Hardly €20m, probably less. Say we did get a replay, what odds us progressing? 3/1, maybe? So the €5m was probably worth it.

SD , what possible legal case did the FAI actually have though ? Taking FIFA to court over a mistake by a referee in a game of football ??

Of course. Im assuming the players - that actually played a part in one of the best performances by any Irish team ever - were of the same opinion

Presuming this €5m showed up in the accounts or are we not privy to them ?

There's much more to this. This is huge.... and immediately sets a precedent for any future "injustices".

Next we will be seeing retrospective cases taken! Sure we should go after them for Belgium in 82.

Exactly, it was hardly any more than that, as far as I can see.

Now, if they had information relating to corruption directly related to the outcome of the match, like refereeing stuff, or something like that, then there is an issue with them being paid off. But if it was just the refereeing thing, taking the money was not a bad decision.

Well, they probably weren't, but the best interests of the FAI were probably served by taking the money. I mean, if the alternative was pursuing a futile legal case, why not take the money? FIFA were under no obligation to offer a replay, remember.

This is a non issue.   A good bit of business by the FAI much as it pains me to say so.
