What the word frit means.
Dennis Skinner used it to describe Theresa May in a speech in the house of commons a couple of months ago.I meant to look it up then but forgot.Journalist Kevin Maguire used it on the sky paper reviews tonight. It's Lincolnshire slang for frightened or scared. Skinner used it as the punchline to his speech in the commons and not many seemed to know what it meant as he didn't seem to get his normal reaction. The only other high profile use of it was Maggie Thatcher (a Lincolnshire woman) calling Denis Healey frit in the 1980's.

Tbh I've never really heard them speak and the lead singer comes across as one of those pricks whod sing in an American accent despite being English

That's more of an Irish thing, isn't it? I can't think of too many English singers that blatantly do it. Teenage Fanclub, definitely, but Scottish. They are class too, so forgiven!
Maybe I just find it less noticeable with the English accent. We have had loads, all sh*te too! U2 Kodaline The Thrills The Script Snow Patrol(are they Irish or Scottish, because they can have them!) |

So they are Irish then? I have no time for them, but The Reindeer Section are great.
As for U2, very true, but none of them since 1987, when they realised they could pump out any old sh*te and people would buy it. |

Yeah, he started going out with her after his divorce a couple of years ago. At the time, the news caused quite a splash.
