Have always wanted us to draw Azerbaijan as I don't think we've met in either friendlies or competitive games.

N.I. can even afford to draw out there though I doubt you'd take that now and it still boils down to the Czechs having to win in Belfast.

Do you think Michael O'Neill will leave after this campaign/world cup finals irrespective of qualification?

Correct.

Slovenia, Kosovo, Ukraine and Azerbaijan are the four countries in UEFA we've not played.

?!?  I must have missed out on that away trip to Belarus

We only played them last year! That was our only time, so no trips to Minsk.

All those Rimming-me gags must mean it's nearly time for the trip to San Marino. Last time, we got er bumped into the fetish place as the Ibis had overbooked. Hotel Huomo 'alla Duomo Smile

As prev mentioned, although from Tiger's Bay I'm not into boxing. I think my Da and uncle were in the same club as Frampton, Barnes etc. long ago. They claimed it was all sweetness and light, but both tended to exaggerate.

While I remember, how's your youngest Peter Belfast (I was on an all-nighter visit with my Ma at the RVH while PB was pacing around outside with the other expectant fathers)?

Thats right floreat i was indeed, yeah Fionn is a healthy bouncing boy, thanks for asking. Looking forward to getting him his first football Ireland football kit, think he might puke a bit if it was an N.i one lol

Heh. Last infant in a GAWA babygro to boke over me (my cousin's grandson) also qualifies for Italy through his mother and France (grandmother). He's a big unit for 9 months so look out for Tomasso in the NI midfield in 2038 qualifying Smile

PS for all the local historians on thread, Tiger's Bay while currently the area bounded roughly by Antim, Limestone, York Roads and Duncairn Gardens was originally just a street corner

NI WC campaign of 2038..... ...as much chance of that as Carl Frampton being undisputed heavyweight champion the same year

Knew ye'd bite, Grubby. Silly me for forgetting a UI's inevitable. Just like it was in 1938, 1968, 1998 .

Being forced to emigrate to find work is almost a thing of the past for the nationalist population.Nationalist areas were cleared down the years,to Manchester,London and other British cities and further afield, never to return....people who, under their own steam, were pursuing a real work ethic. Now,if there's a job to be done in England, there's always Easyjet...you don't have up sticks and leave...different times FU FU

The smart thing for O'Neill to do would be hold off given how well the pub team are doing as he could get get mid/lower prem club next season should they fail to qualify. They must be at least slight favourites for a playoff finish even at this stage which are in November.

If it was a substantially bigger club in the EPL, he'd have to up sticks before the September qualifiers but that isn't going to happen. Even if he takes the Norwich job, I think he'll stay on with them until the end of the WCQ campaign.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

I don't think Michael will leave for Norwich, basically because I don't think they'll offer him it (I suspect they'll opt for a better-known "name").

But if/when he does go, my pick to replace him would be Tommy Wright.

P.S. As for Sammy, I think I'd sooner appoint his daughter. That's if she's not too busy being a Model/Actress/Woteva...
