Bayern Munich should cash in on Lewandowski and sign him.

Can that work? What happens if the transfer window closed?
It would damage this forums' reputation

Would Pep sign a player who doesn't run?

Barcelona are probably doing this to put pressure on La Liga because they know he's worth too much to the league.

This is all just bullsh*t. A play by Barca against La Liga. They’re still promoting that Super League nonsense with Real Madrid. Both are opposed to the money La Liga is getting from that American fund.

Agree. He'll end up staying where he is.

If he does move, I get the feeling he's just going to sulk wherever he goes.

This isn't looking as likely after Laportas interview.
Messi is off and that is a real shame. Barca will certainly be a much lesser place for his absence.
However, the five year contract did seem excessive. Hes an iconic player but nothing lasts forever and he certainly won't be improving.

And it serves them right after the ESL stuff, which they seem to remain committed to. They are now talking about rationalisations after years of over-spending, often on assets that have depreciated greatly. The El Classico clubs needed the ESL more than the vast majority of other clubs as it would reduce their debt, create new streams of income, wall them off from future competition, as keep the party going. Like I said, serves them right, and I look forward to seeing Messi at another club.

Yeah they are getting what they deserve no doubt. Personally I'd love to see all the "SuperClubs" implode.
I wonder did Laporta foresee this coming the whole time. It's actually not a terrible outcome for him. Obviously losing Messi is terrible but he has to slash costs and he was still looking at a massive outlay giving a 5 year deal to a 34 year old.
In this scenario, the optics cover him. He did his best to keep Messi but it's all La Liga and Bartomeu's fault.
