The Koeman appointment is just a placeholder until Xavi takes over a year from now.

Appointments like this are par for the course for Barca. They never appoint high profile managers. Sometimes it pays off [Rijkaard, Guardiola]. Other times they tread water with guys like Martino, Setien and Valverde.

Luis Enrique was a well known former player too

The others weren't
