As of Wednesday the CPI is at 9.1%, a level unseen since February 1982. It's expected to keep rising over the next few months. RPI is 11.7%.

she says if the uk supreme court rules that holyrood cannot hold another referendum without westminster agreement, the snp will stand at the next westminster election on one question "a de facto referendum". it has echoes of the 1918 irish general election.

One of the key messages of the No campaign in 2014 was "Vote yes and you'll be out of the EU and you won't get back in". Brexit has changed everything and accelerated things both in terms of a 2nd Scottish independence ref and the prospect of a United Ireland referendum here as well

They must be hoping for a huge turn around, because I think they said that only 45% are in favour of it at the moment.
I would have thought they would have waited till over 50% in the polls to make the decision. If Boris doesn't agree to it it might spur them on too. Why should they be taking orders from him?

It's a few percentage points more than that...even still that's quite a good platform to start from when you consider they started at ~27% in favour of independence in 2014 and got it up 45% the day of the vote. You'd just have to hope they've learned their lessons from 2014 and have the economic argument nailed down this time. Pensioners is what cost them and the failure to convince them they'd be Ok if they voted for independence.
