Brexit Party are down to 4/1 to win the seat in Hartlepool.
Channel 4 sent an undercover journo in to see what goes on behind the scenes there, they sound like a lovely bunch of lads. Edited by coyne - 10 Dec 2019 at 7:02pm |

YouGov have projected 339 seats for Tories.
However they've said their model has a margin of error and could end up being as low as 311. The most common factor in both models so far is that Labour are predicted to do okay in Remain seats but very poorly in Leave seats.

Projected to be less than 1% of the vote in it for Raab's seat.
Less than 2% of the vote for IDS' seat - It'd be a shame if he had to sign onto Universal Credit. 9% in Boris' seat with Labour gaining an extra 4% since the last poll, not exactly safe either.

If you are going to go on the wind up then at least get your facts right - Brexit won't and can't be "done" next year.

Labour partys election campaign aside from the first week has been dreadful, they hadnt got the cajones to go after BJ and instead they let him of the hook to have have an easy ride (quite literally), to spout his "Get it Done" rhetoric. Imagine a scenario where the current PM is under scrutiny about his alleged "romantic" relationship with an american businesswoman while at the same time he will not disclose the number of children he has, and yet the main opposition refuse to use this opportunity to challange him. Corbyn should have made a very early and frank apology to the UK Jewish community (he didnt have to mean it) in the first week of the campaign when things were going well for him. Instead he let it fester away to the point where the Chief Rabbi in the UK is more or less telling the Jewish population not to vote for Labour, and also had an impact on the historical labour friendly media not being fully
behind Labour. Instead Corbyn is happy to be a big fish in a very dimishing bowl. |

Absolute horsesh*t!!! The Chief Rabbi would have gone after Corbyn anyway as he is a Zionist Tory. A despicable individual.
Corbyn has repeatedly apologised and it has never been enough for a media, owned by the very few, that wants to castigate him at every single opportunity. It’s funny how anti-Semitism suddenly became important after he held off the second leadership challenge. His campaign has probably been the first political campaign I have ever seen that is honest and properly run. He should not be blamed for the zeitgeist, he should be credited for trying to change it. He never talks about what the others might do, he talks about the hope and opportunity will bring. He is the modern Clem, an unassuming man who wasn’t born to rule but wants to do right by society. With an impartial media he would have 75% of the vote, the fact he is still in the race at all speaks volumes for his campaign.

Ephraim Mirvis was always going to have a go at Corbyn given that he is a big mate of Johnson and contibutes to the Tory party. |

I wouldn’t bother! By the way, credit to the Liverpool fans last night, although there mus be some irony in Labour voters singing Corbyn’s name while supporting an English institution owned by American billionaires...

Liverpool FC is not an English institution - It is of the City. And the fans can't control the ownership, unfortunately, but the desire is still there to do that. |

An institution in England then, I’m not getting into that. I’m not sure the real appetite for fan ownership is there at that level as it is unlikely to bring success. The Barca/Real model is nearly impossible to replicate and even that isn’t real ownership. Not anymore.

Do you want him to win or not ? Do you want a decent man who plays fair to lose or a xenophobic misogynist to win ? Bringing up the 1945 election is a bit of a stretch and totally idealistic.

Spirit of Shankly was set up specifically with one of it's ultimate goals being to secure fan ownership of the club - The appetite is there. Now, how the model would work is a different topic. Anyways, back on track with this thread. I think it would have done Corbyn no harm at all if he had said something along the lines of "I'm sorry if people feel we haven't moved fast enough on anti-semitism: We'll try and be better in the future". Would have helped to calm some of this discourse. |

He did eventually - But his dithering was not a good look. Should have been as decisive as John McDonald on this.

It is relevant for many reasons, not least because of the NHS. I want him to win and think the only way he could was his he way. If you compete in a sh*t flinging contest with sh*t flingers, especially ones with 90% of the media on their side, you will lose.
