Thought generally Marriner reffed the London Derby well today other than missing Vertonghens poor challenge on Hazard.

Martin Atkinson has lost the plot should have given a peno and two red cards.

Michael Oliver getting pelters for last night peno decision for Real Madrid.

Predictably Graham Poll sticking up for Oliver but also bizarrely mentioning Arse Wenger in the process.

Best criticism I've heard in some time. LOL

Thought he handled himself quite well in the heat of the moment. Didn't lose control at all, just showed Buffon the red and stood his ground and pointed to the touchline, indicating where Buffon should move to. Probably the most hostile reaction to a ref that I can remember since Roy Keane, Jaap Stam (more so Stam) and several other players basically chased the ref halfway across the pitch, think it was the treble season.

Buffon let himself down with those comments IMO. Was like a rambling mad man. A deserved penalty and red card.

Definite penalty. Maybe not the most guaranteed you've ever seen, but it was definitely the correct decision.

Possibly should have been a red for Benatia as well for DOGSO.

Madness from Buffon who went way over the top.

Deserved sending off for him.

Hard to see what the referee should have done differently in Juve's favour.

While I don't condone what they did that night, it must be said that Ovrebo was hopeless.

Well said Super Dave agree with all. Think though was definitely a red for DOGSO. Only thing about Mr Oliver is though he makes good decisions his body language not great and still looks like a schoolboy ref in a mans game. That for me is reason they hasstled him so much. Brave call though FAIR PLAY won :)

Did Buffon ever apologise for these comments?

no no, did the opposite. supported his previous comments. let himself down doing that, got caught up in the romance of him deserving a CL winners medal rather than accepting that oliver made the correct decision for the penalty and red card

Yeah, he really doubled down on it. Madman. I wouldn't go so far as to say it has spoiled his reputation, but it certainly hasn't helped. Like when I say Zidane, you immediately think three things: '98 World Cup final, '02 Hampden volley... and '06 headbutt.

Buffon will be remembered for this, unfortunately.

Some of the media making a big thing about Clattenburg revealing he is a Newcastle supporter.

I thought this was common knowledge!
