Eddie Gormley’s tenure as manager of Cabinteely FC could continue after attempts were made to sort out grievances that looked to have sealed his fate.

Cabinteely players were told last night that Gormley had departed his post. And the manager’s backroom staff were preparing to leave along with him. But it’s understood that last ditch attempts have been made to retrieve the situation with clarity expected tomorrow.

The Dublin club are bottom of the First Division with a record of two wins from their 12 games in the second tier. However, it’s believed that tensions are not a direct consequence of results on the park.
