Chimney Corner just pulled out of the league recently too didn't they.
Attendances are on the up, in the North, but like in the south, they are still nothing to write home about. Their national association seem to actually care about the league thou, unlike our own, but the quality of team down south is of a higher standard, which it should be really. We have a much larger pool to pick players, sponsors and fans from.

Ive been to my fair share of games in both leagues and Ive said this to Eire32 himself many times before, League of Ireland thumps Irish league in nearly every department.
LOI has better quality of football, better teams, better atmosphere, better players produced, etc. Grounds are about the same, both leagues have crap grounds and good grounds. The only thing IL wins in would be coverage, their highlight show has a far better timeslot than our league. |

Newry and omagh have ceased to exist. Coleraine, distillery and glentoran have all faced winding up in the past decade - glens were saved twice by an anonymous donor and Coleraine were aided by a hand out from Jimmy nesbitt. There has been as much if not more financial mismanagement in the IL . |
