The self proclaimed 'peaceful' religion strikes again. An absolute disgrace. The videos, in particular the one of the cop getting shot in the head is sickening. The amount of planning behind this attack too is chilling. They must have been watching the magazine offices for weeks and had their routine down like clockwork.
These extremists are disgusting and apparently the most sensitive people in the world.
The printing of a feckin cartoon does not warrant one death never mind the 12 that are dead so far.
Paris in complete lockdown while these clowns are on the run and I hope that when they do catch them they take them up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and push them off. Edited by ShamtheRam - 07 Jan 2015 at 2:08pm |

This is akin to some catholics running into the studios of Father Ted back in the day and gunning down the actors and writers.
I do not understand what they are trying to achieve. |

Completely agree. A front page reprint of the cartoon alongside every news story that reports on the attack would be a strong message that these kind of attacks will not achieve their aim of limiting freedom of expression. You don't have to like or agree with the cartoon - its about the right to publish it.

As said on Twitter, every single paper in Europe should reprint that cartoon.

Planning, what reason would they have for having a go at us??? I am sure if we do have any cells of these mad coonts they are being watched as there ain't a huge number of them over here compared to the likes of Britain and France.

It seems like these guys are highly trained and not just random nut jobs. This is an attack on freedom of speech and expression.

Please explain why, what and who would be a target in Ireland, otherwise that is baseless sensationalist speculation. Sure you can always take a short flight out of here Planeing. Oh no , wait...

How many islamic-related incidents is that in France lately? 4 in the past month iirc.
And the French want to elect Marine LePen in two years??? Ireland is a target, and a very soft one at that. While the brits and other nations take pro-active measures to prevent such incidents occurring, we assume things will be grand. And to any militant, that makes us look as easy as shooting fish in a barrel. Do we even have something as basics as a national security alert level in operation? |

Don't think there would be much doubt as to what type of groups would possibly be responsible given that the office was attacked before in 2011 (?) I think it was over the mocking cartoons.
Of course there is a tiny chance it could be a disgruntled employee (s) but I doubt it. This is one case that won't require Hercules Poirot.

Are we definite that it was Islamacists?
This weeks edition was an interview with all round p1ssbucket Michel Houellebecq who is releasing another anti-Islamic book. Freedom of speech versus deliberate provoation. Its a knife edge.
