Hi guys planning on getting the parents a weekend away for Christmas. Anyone any recommendations on nice hotels in Ireland to as no clue were to book for them

Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill, did a 2 night stay here before on B&B and 1 dinner package.

Try the Lough Erne resort just outside Enniskillen. I'm guessing your folks live in Donegal somewhere so it's not too far away.

Could also try the Slieve Russell.

Those may be pricey though.

One other option - the Hodson Bay just north of Athlone. It's a very nice spot. It is a sister hotel of the Galway Bay and they should have similar offers.

The Wyatt in Westport usually have good deals I got the parents a weekend deal there a few months back.
Would also recommend The Galway Bay deal used one before.

The Hudson Bay is a fine hotel but unless your parents want to play golf or do  boat trips there's nothing to do except stay in hotel bar and they will probably end up going into Athlone.The other hotels are at least beside other pubs/restaurants.

My work have taken me to both on the "work away day" last 3 years and to be honest both were mehhhh 

If i lived in Donegal id be looking somewhere more west coast and south Thumbs Up

Never stayed there but have done drinks and eats very good indeed , i must say cocktails are the way to go Thumbs Up

Send them to Killarney Ringer. Loads of deals on hotels and you could send them to see something in the INEC or go watch the mighty Celtic. Im sure they wont mind the 5 hour drive
