Palmerstown.

Family upped sticks in mid eighties when Southampton signed him as a schoolboy though he didn't debut for them until 1989/90 or thereabouts.

Great commitment. Never succumbed to the lure of booze as a young lad in Palmerstown. I remember hearing stories about his commitment to his own personal training regime. Used to do 100 laps of Glen Park every evening after school.

Think that could be very good appointment for pats, did well with galway last year after taking over when they were in the sh*t. Seems to have very good potential

It's official, something that has been known since Monday

St Patrick's Athletic FC are delighted to announce the appointment of
Jeff Kenna as first team manager.

Kenna, who guided Galway United to safety in the Premier Division last
season will officially take charge of the team when they return for pre-
season training on Jan 21st.

'Jeff brings a great deal of football experience, knowledge and
enthusiasm to the role and everyone at the club is looking forward to
working with him over the coming season', said Pat's CEO Richard
Sadlier.

Roy Keane had a great start at management tooConfused

Not taking anything away from Kenna's and Galways' achievement last year, but the jury is still out for me as half a season doesn't make him a good manager. Risk from Pats but might well pay off.
