I don't think so.
I think it will affect potential sponsors considering sponsoring the FAI.
Instead of multi million euro deals being offered, what will likely be offered is fractions of that, given that the FAI are now in no position to negotiate for much tbh.

UEFA are paying us until March, so yes we will be able to fulfill our play-off obligation. Defeat in that though and I think we will find out the answer to your first question.

Very appropriate that a rovers fan and a wicklow man are in agreement considering they are based in the same county :)

thanks to poster who put this up.

Best article outlining the FAI (lack of) finances.

I'm not  a financial expert but from what I can see it's a case of FAI RIP in it's current guise.

Incidentally, let nobody be fooled here.

Politicians and ministers were aware of this mess since 2014 and did nothing about it. Wednesday's public show trial in Oireachtas is purely and simply about these same people trying to save their political careers.

money will be thrown at the problem by these same people as it always is.

nobody will be questioned in any depth.

There will be no convictions.

People will forget and move on.

This is Ireland we're talking about. Most other functioning democracies would definitively have a different process envisaged for the people who got the FAI into this mess.

Enjoy Wednesday's show trial.

Is this money FOR the FAI or money FROM the FAI?

In any event, it's money that should NEVER have been spent in this way.

Where has the money gone? If the FAI are now in 80 million + in debt...

-We have qualified for two tournaments.
-5 million f**k off money from Septic Blather
-UEFA tv deal, I think is something like 10million guaranteed each year
-A good sponsorship deal with Three mobile
-All the debt write downs from banks and others debtors
-Government money
-And the bloody rest

Congratulations to Deloitte and Sport Ireland for your sterling work regulating the FAI Clap

Romario 2016: And the ticket mafia gets caught! Well, four years ago I had already told the government.

No way should the government bail them out. If they go bust so be it. The government can be involved setting the next one up and hopefully in a manner it stops this in future.
