Rugby Union football in this country is primarily a social event. It's the "sport" for people who don't like sport.

In terms of rugby ever remotely rivalling GAA or association football in terms of playing numbers, all I can say is hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Petty begrudgery and scoring cheap points off others and their interests is what makes us a people.

Where would the fun be if we weren't like that?

The IRFU is an organisation, not a team
hey do play under both our flag and play our anthem while in Ireland

Sold out three friendlies, we can barely fill important qualifiers, need to looks at what they're doing right and what we can learn for them instead of constantly having a cut at them all the time

The irfu does not play under our flag or play our national anthem, they have the awful irelands call. They have great PR and friends in high media positions like ryle nugent pushing their interests. They have their loyal niche market but outside of this they have nothing. Much like their last world cup their will be little interest and a million miles from what occurs when the football lads qualify for a proper international sports finals.

Ever since I joined this forum (roughly 7 years ago ) people have described rugbys support is a bandwagon. Bandwagons don't last for that long. Its permanent.
