Amazing how far you can get in Ireland if you know the right people.

Did I read it right that JD actually agreed to a bigger cut in severance than the original agreement at the time he left?

lads; look within the FAI - the old guard are still all there
Here is the Secretary herself: The FAI's chief operating officer, Rea Walshe, was paid €2,500 by her former boss John Delaney for personal legal services in breach of Law Society guidelines. Gary Owens’ Defense was that she told everyone AFTER Delaney had left. This is the lady that has been Appointed as being the go to with the ODCE. It’s an absolute disgrace. The Chief Security Officer still has not explained why he has sent sent emails about fans to An Garda Síochánas private gmail accounts. This is not a new FAI

i don't think it's fair to tar Rhea Walsh with the same brush as Delaney and his FAI cronies. She earned the right to continue working there after reapplying for a role there, and being considered the best and most suitable out of all applicants. It's not her fault she was caught up in a culture of absolute self-entitled scumbaggery while working there.
I think Quinn, Kerr, the new CEO, Owens and everyone on the island knows well who the real chancers are that are still there, and hopefully the new CEO can find a way to force them out, or hopefully they will be exposed somehow and forced to resign.

The people living in the old folks home needn't be too concerned about covid-19 if John is in charge!

It was an internal recruitment process. We know senior management instilled a culture of fear in the staff - maybe she wasn’t one of them but she did seem awfully close to John. After all; he appointed her to the interim CEO role. Why on earth was the post not open to external applicants? It makes no sense to this day. Odds were stacked in her favour given she has the experience in the role and knows the politics of the Association. I think I recall reading there was only one other applicant.... This is why the whole executive management reshuffle in the summer was a waste of everyone’s time and they missed out on an opportunity to bring good people in to support the many great people that are already in Abbottstown In short; the process was a farce

If Delaney paid back a lump sum (say €5m - €10m) to the FAI would you support letting him off without prosecution?
