Fully agree with this. There were more than a few supporters who were happy to kiss JD’s ass once they were being looked after. Their fellow fans were an afterthought. Indeed, I’ve noticed one or two of them back on this forum in recent months as though nothing ever happened. Like rats running from a sinking ship. |

The whole letter is laughable.
The irony. You couldn’t make it up. The taxpayer have just bailed the FAI out because of the ineptness of Nixon and his mates Fitzroy and Conway and now they’re suggesting they shouldn’t have signed off on it The best is that UEFA were acutely aware of all the ins and outs and were happy to sign off on the deal with the same protagonists he is complaining about literally 6 weeks before the country went into lockdown. The fella will be laughed out of it in UEFA HQ

The long serving members of the Council and Board have zero credibility given the state the organisation was left in. Also, it's evident that they have no shame either. Until they are all gone, we'll remain sceptical about all of them.

It's hilarious to watch the old guard try to cling on for dear life. Long gone are the days where they sing rebel songs arm in arm in a trendy bar where the tab is covered on Delaneys taxpayer FAI credit card. The freebies and the fat cat status is but a distant memory.
I'm looking forward to seeing who the new CEO will be when things start to return to normal. Will be another step in the right direction.

Because up to now the lads "with knowledge of the game" have done such a great job

I wonder how would they define “knowledge of the game”. Niall Quinn played in three world cups for us and had a big role with Sunderland too.

He is the only man to have played in major finals for us in 3 different decades. He was our leading goalscorer at one point as well.

He remains our 2nd leading goalscorer of all time, a feat that should have been passed by Shane Long by now. Is Steve Staunton the only Irish player to have appeared at 3 World Cups for us?
