the fai would owe solidarity payments from UEFA to all loi teams with under age teams. This would be vital money to keep the bills paid for under age squads.
One City,One County,One Club GUFC will be back.

Noel Mooney lying very low in all this. His former club gone, all that has come out since the reports yet he had the balls to lie back at the fans forum and criticise the supporters. He unblocked a few people on twitter so he’s a great man.

If you ask me, this shambles has nothing to do with the fans, nor the players who want to pull on the green jersey. Indeed, it could argue that we have also suffered from the mismanagement and are victims in this.

We need some form of association to do the formalities, but if the Senior Mens team were in any way penalised then it would be wholly unethical. At least when clubs go bust, their players can find new clubs.

Are you joking. The LOI is far from fine as it is, it wont take much to push it over the edge. Or at least knock it back significantly.

From what i hear some clubs haven't been given money they are owed by the FAI for the 2018 season, never mind the 2019 season.
If the FAI go under then is there a chance that LOI clubs could be ejected from European competition for a number of years. European competition brings huge money to the LOI.
There are coaches and people involved with LOI clubs that are partially or fully employed by the FAI. How long will their jobs last. Talking to one in our club recently who thinks its only a matter of time for him to be gone from FAI.

And thats off the top of me head. If LOI clubs aren't worried then they should be. Very uncertain times ahead.

What money do the FAI owe teams? Unless you finish in top 3 it costs more to enter the league than prize money?

Dundalk have been given re-assurances from Uefa that Champions League money due in June, that usually goes through the FAI will be given directly to Dundalk, id imagine Rovers, Derry and Pats are the same.

Really, from a Dundalk fan. You do realise you had to take legal council to get your UEFA money about 6 months ago. You are naive if you think the FAI aren't holding back on the monies owed. Whether you finish in top four or not you still get money, there is also youth development money and money to club employees. When you add it all up it starts getting pretty important pretty quickly.

There won't be much European money if LOI clubs are banned caused the Association has disappeared and start again.

We’ve actually qualified for 2 of the last 5 tournaments (might make it 3 out of last 6 if we qualify next March).
Avg home attendance of 42,000 for this campaign.
Avg attendance 47,000 for 2018 campaign.
Avg attendance 44,000 for 2016 campaign.
There’s probably only 4 or 5 countries in the whole of UEFA that can beat that.
So plenty of money coming in.

I meant to comment on this at the time are those figures  right ?

Having said that our attendances have been decent were they mostly  freebies  ?

most people laughed when the attendance figure were announced and then near the end of his time the freebies ran totally out of control.

Why pay off Delaney if your planning on going under anyway? Why not just leave him as another unpaid creditor.

Whilst there's differing views on the golden handshake; it's sickening to think that Delaney was first in line to be paid.

No a terrible idea. FAI invest nothing in youth any keep all the International gate money to themselves . Just like they are doing now. The organisation has to be one group can’t be split in two. I’d like to know who came up with that idea. It’s like something JD would have come up with.

Easy one to answer. Donal Conway was Delaney's yes man for years. With him in there he was looking after the lads and making sure some of those skeletons in the closet stay there.

It's exactly how football is run in Wales, for example, and works well over there. Plenty of examples of it being a successful structure.

For the foreseeable future what remains of the FAI is going to be managing the debt and there won’t be money for anything else.

This proposal could save a lot of jobs.  Fair play to the staff for being proactive.  What you would need though is some mechanism to avoid all the money going to Minister’s constituencies.

Professional sport and high finance are far removed from what the grassroots do and beyond the competence of your average volunteer “football man”. The old FAI board came up through the ranks but almost all of them were out of their depth. You need strong competent directors, not football politicians looking after their own patch.
