The following year, at a match in Poland, he emerged from a bar without his shoes. However, it is unclear whether he gave his shoes to a shoeless man or whether his shoes were taken from him.

The Government can't oust JD as that would count as political interference which UEFA/FIFA won't allow. It's great that the Oireachtas want to question him but it's the supporters and clubs that need to lead the charge for change. If you're involved with a club, get onto your committee and voice your opinions.

The FAI receive public money, if the political will is in place then it would lead to changes of practice - that's not political interference

You obviously didn’t read the sorts ireland press release especially the last paragraph. If the Fai have breached the terms of agreements in relation to receiving grants Sports Ireland can stop future grant aid. |

Yes but am I right in saying that the grant money is a small percentage of the FAI's overall revenues? What is the exact figure? Of course a couple of million being withheld will hurt but JD has brass balls and that might not be enough for him to walk.

Withhold the next round of grant money and split it between other sports. St John wouldn't be long gone.

Dail sports committee members received a reminder of an invite to u17 pre drinks reception and dinner this morning.
Supposed to be happening a few days before the FAI are infront. Strange to get a reminder around now

A lovely gesture out of John, just 6 days before Oireachtas hearing with John, well John has invited all the members of the Oireachtas committee to a drinks reception, under17 euro draw n then a dinner afterwards. According to Noel Rock, this is not normal procedure nor is it appropriate. The last time he was called before the committee he rang them all to tell them all that it was a waste of timetfor him to attend. This time its a lot more classy. In fairness to him, he is making the effort to kiss and make up! The story that keeps on giving!

I doubt any of them will take the invitation up, none of them are under 17 for a start.
