Mismanagement and a poor product.
If we were going to a World Cup or Euro's we would have .

Don't even think of blaming Kenny for that one LOL

name one manager that could have taken Ireland to the World Cup in a group with Portugal and Serbia.  Blaming Kenny for that is like blaming Frank Lampard for not winning the league with Everton.

If anything the product now is stronger than it was in the past few years. Sky got in at the right time for the WNT and think there is an opportunity for a company to get in now with this young team rather than showing up when it is on the verge of success.

Sky got involved on the back of seven successive defeats.

However Vera had the confidence to take on friendlies against superior opposition as a way of improving.  Thankfully the FAI trusted her and gave her the opportunity to do this.  The benefits were obvious and indeed the first game after the announcement saw a shock win over Australia.  She had explained this all the way but I doubt a manager of the mens side would have been allowed do this.

We now have a superbly coached side with every player knowing their role and a totally united squad. Players like Amber Barrett who I don't think started a game in this campaign can come on and made quite the impact.  Major brands like Sky and Cadburys will hopefully reap the rewards of this.

The confidence the match-going fans have in Stephen Kenny is not shared in the media or possibly anywhere else.  It is a great opportunity for a sponsor to get on board.  The draw doesn't help from a qualification point of view however we will have massive games in the Aviva next year.

Market confidence is what counts, not fans. If we're dead-rubbered again after two games it will be a nigh impossible sell without a major intervention - i.e. sacking the manager.

It's the brand that sponsors are attracted to. Last few years the FAI has been poison to be associated with, I'd imagine they're asking for a pretty penny if they can't get anybody to come onboard. Probably should just go for a charity sponsor for a year to get some good PR

With a charity you can plaster them all over the players training wear, and when it comes to the fans kits can leave them sponsor free.

Set the marker that sponsor logos won't be plastered on fans kits but since the women's kits have Sky all over them it's likely the men's will also have sponsors back on them.

As its the John Delaney thread, it's the FAI and it's a great idea to support charity, we need Con Martin involved!

Finally there might be some movement on this.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Excellent!

Funny thing is had he not pricked the court about for over 2 years and got the documents in order he wanted legal privilege over it most likely would have been given, from the initial reporting of the hearings the judge seemed very tolerable and reasonable with his requests until she got strung along.
