I see the FAI are still claiming legal privilege over documents

In a statement that strongly resembles the type of statements that came out under Jd's watch, emphasizing how much documents they've given as if it was an escuse to hide others

They previously claimed legal privilege over 16 other documents, it went to court, the judge ruled that they had legal privilege relating to extracts of 14 of the 16 documents, and ordered the content in those 14 extracts to be redacted- the (non-redacted) remainder of the documents were passed to the OCDE.

Wouldn't exactly be getting worried, they have passed over more than 40,000 documents to the OCDE, if they can't find anything untoward out of that amount, the FAI has been better run than any of us thought. I very much doubt that will turn out to be the case.

Seems to be a hold up in the appointment of independent directors process alright, they had given a date of the 2nd week of October for the next step forward in that, or at least that is what was reported at the time. https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/setting-up-of-new-fai-board-to-be-completed-next-week-38558170.html

Picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.....

Anything come of this? When is Donal going to step down and let the FAI move forward?

Didn't say at council but indicated to press he's looking to see the year out. Mooney back to UEFA end of next month. Will give a more detailed update when I have time.

This will have a lot of people sweating and I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple of more government agencies were making their way to abbotstown after this is finished.

Quote Quote from the article:

Meanwhile, Uefa, the ruling body of European football, has confirmed Delaney can remain in his posts with the organisation despite having left the FAI. He sits on Uefa’s ruling body, the ExCo, and also has roles on two other committees, which together command a salary of €160,000 a year.

He can see out the term, can't stand for re-election. That's been known all along. Up to UEFA to act on that, not in anyone else's hands.

The “Football for All” story in the Indo looks terrible. It is reported that the Government were giving the FAI €212k per year to contribute to its funding disabled kids playing the game. This figure somehow became €80k when it came to the actual budget divvied out. That’s quite a shortfall. So where did the missing money go?

Mystery of FAI's 'Football For All' budget

https://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/mystery-of-fais-football-for-all-budget-38675607.html

It’s the same with the UEFA solidarity payments for loi clubs for their underage structures as they were never given the actual figures for the funds paid in by UEFA.

A chunk of that shortfall can be attributed to salary costs but there's still something not right there.
