EFL clubs already starting to issue their retained lists for next season, which means plenty of young Irish players being kept on or let go. Gabriel Adebambo, a former Ireland under 18 international, has been let go by Stoke.

He may well be hanging on to see if he gets any better offers, he has gained a lot of first team experience for a versatile (LB, LCB, LWB) 19yo defender (doesnt turn 20 until August). Definitely a real prospect and I could see him moving up a grade, although whether or not he would get the same game time as he has got at Lincoln is an issue, he might be as well staying there for another season, he has time on his side.

Is there a free agent thread? I think there was in previous years anyway. Roughan is a very tidy player, I think he’s best off where he is for another year though

There was a good on the LOI Central podcast with the Academy Directors from Bohs and Waterford this week. It was pretty honest and covered the good bits and the challenges. That part is about 40 mins in. Although the earlier part covers the Horse racing/ football funding debate also |

Think you're possibly mixing him up with David Okagbue, sho is still at Stoke. Edit - actually I'm talking sh*te, they both made the Stoke bench at different points this season.

French born, Irish developed William Hondermarck, who was an unused sub for Ireland Under 21s in two games in the last qualifying campaign, has declared for Congo. Would have needed to kick on a lot to get an Ireland cap so probably a pragmatic decision from him.

Have been impressed with Ferizaj anytime I've seen him play but I'm surprised he hasn't been involved with Rovers more this season. Blackburn u21s doesn't strike me as a great move.

A lot better than not playing at all for Rovers! Blackburn are a decent Championship club and he will have a pathway there to ft football if he is good enough. Think it's unlikely that a PL club will come calling so I would have thought Blackburn isnt a bad move at all.

Blackburn wouldn't be a bad move because they're a club who have a philosophy of developing young players for the first team and have a young team in general. Even if a PL club came calling your chances of playing first team football are higher at Blackburn. |

Is there a reason why Shamrock Rovers aren't giving him more minutes? Just 4 sub appearances from 20 league games. 1 assist from those limited minutes (46 minutes). He scored vs Bray in The Leinster Senior Cup. |

Because the squad is stacked with established senior players ahead of him, hes competing with Jack Byrne for a place arguably the leagues best player, Estonian International markus Poom, Richie Towell etc.. He was left out of the squad for a few weeks due to disciplinary reasons too I believe.

And without knowing anything whatsoever about his situation, there surely is a chance that he has already informed Rovers that he intends to pursue a transfer this summer.
